Trace & I travelled to Phoenix recently to see the great Sir James Paul McCartney. The day after the show we took a day long tour out to the hippy red rock city of Sedona. Sedona is ~115 mile (185km) drive from downtown Phoenix and is located in the northern Verde Valley region of Arizona.
The region is full of interesting geology, flora, history and monuments. Amongst those we visited were the cliff dwellings of Montezuma Castle, the Chapel of the Holy Cross, the enormous and brilliant red rock / orange-colored sandstone formations of Cathedral Rock & Bell Rock and of course downtown Sedona.
Sedona has long been considered as a spiritual mecca, attracting artists, musicians and wedding guests from around the world. Downtown is littered with boutique galleries, fortune tellers, quirky gift shops, bars and restaurants.
Hopefully I have been able to capture the essence of Sedona with the attached images. Additional images will be posted in the photo gallery.
Enjoy
